Spa-Tucci’s Announces Professional Tanning Service with Special Bargains for April Customer

Spa-Tucci’s (www.spatuccis.com), a full-service day spa combining traditional services such as massage, body treatments and skin care with the latest health techniques including metabolic typing and colonics, today announced the beginning of its second season using the SunFX professional tanning service. To kick off the spring season, Spa-Tucci’s is providing several packages combining SunFX with complimentary options.

SunFX offers unique benefits compared to other tanning services on the market. It is completely organic, consisting of bronzer, sugar, salt and water, and is applied by an airbrush system to prevent streaking and the unnatural orange tint typical for other products. It adapts to the customer’s natural pigmentation, and one application lasts up to ten days.

Sandy Santucci, owner of Spa-Tucci’s, said, “SunFX is an amazing tanning system. You see the difference as soon as it goes on, and as the day goes by, you get darker according to your natural skin color. After six to eight hours, you shower; all the residue washes off, and you have a beautiful, even, golden tan.”

Spa-Tucci’s is offering several tanning packages to encourage its customers. All SunFX users will receive a free manicure; purchasers of three tanning sessions will get a pedicure as well; and the package of six comes with a free mini-facial. Many customers come in for a facial, manicure and pedicure, and then end with a tanning session.

The process uses an airbrush machine to apply the treatment. The customer stands in an application tent and is sprayed by the tanning solution mixed with air. As the solution is applied sequentially to different body areas, previously treated sections are dried by a fan. So when the application is complete, the customer only needs to wait an additional five minutes. The entire procedure takes approximately 20 minutes.

Spa-Tucci’s has treated over 150 people since starting SunFX last year. The product is available in lite, medium or dark depending on a person’s complexion, and a special touch-up spray is provided for the face, hands and feet. Off-site tanning parties are available for groups of four or more.

More about Spa-Tucci’s

Spa-Tucci’s is a full-service day spa combining traditional services such as massage, body treatments and skin care with the latest health techniques including metabolic typing and colonics.

It offers Swedish, deep tissue and hot stone massages with powerful relaxation techniques to soothe muscles, relieve stress and restore energy. Body treatments such as crystal salt treatment/sugar scrubs, Southwestern mud wraps and firming techniques detoxify, reduce cellulite and revitalize the customer from head to foot. Skin care is provided through professional peel, collagen masks, vitamin C applications and anti-aging eye treatment. Special offerings are available for gentlemen and teens.

Spa-Tucci’s is rapidly becoming famous for its unique health-related services. These include metabolic testing, colonics and ion foot detox:

  • - Metabolic typing is a scientific approach used to analyze each customer’s digestive system and then recommend specific foods and supplements. It works by measuring 15 unique responses to a glucose potassium drink.
  • - Colonics provides a gentle irrigation of the colon combined with an abdominal massage. It removes toxic waste from the body and increases absorption of nutrients.
  • -Ion foot detox counteracts exposure to toxins and other pollutants in the environment. It lessens the incidence of chronic degenerative diseases and has been widely used in many ancient healing traditions.

Spa-Tucci’s offers all its services in its own beautiful chalet. Indian decorations — the owner is part Cherokee — adorn the walls, and friendly staff members make the visitor feel at home. The spa attempts to provide a sanctuary from the cares and concerns of everyday life.

What a difference a day spa makes
By H.M. Epstein

(portion of article reprinted with permission)

I’ll wager there’s nothing in Westchester quite like SPA-TUCCI’S DAY SPA in Mohegan Lake. Despite the Roman name, the spa’s décor reflects owner Sandy Santucci’s Cherokee heritage. Kokopellis abound on pillows, wallpaper borders, sconces and sculptures, as well as wall masks of spirit animals like wolves, buffalo and bears, Funky, refreshingly different and painted in bright Southwestern colors, the spa plays relaxing Native American music instead of Enya or Pachelbel. Manicures and pedicures are offered on the main floor of this 19th-century house. Upstairs are three treatment rooms with creaky antique floors and a spa sitting room with a sofa, lockers and refreshments. In addition to a broad menu of massage, facial and body treatments, Spa-Tucci’s offers Supportive Touch Therapeutic Massage, which the spa describes as a “healing” treatment for chemotherapy and arthritis patients.

I expected a gentle massage, but what I got was both so much more and so much less. Massage therapist Charlie Hayes, a slight, gray-haired, bearded man in a trucker’s cap, asks me to lie down on the table fully clothed. He then proceeds to massage my “aura”. Cynic that I am, I expect nothing. What I receive is profound and very soothing. At one point, the density of the air between his hands and my head is so intense, I open one eye and say “Charlie, you’re giving me a headache”. Towards the end of the massage, when he runs his hands over my calf muscles (and I mean “over” – he never touches me), I can feel them “pop” and release. I’m a convert.

Don’t miss their newest offering: Rain Drop Therapy, a massage that incorporates essential oils dropped onto the spine and feet in a raindrop fashion, followed by a hot stone massage for $90. Santucci says it’s so relaxing, you should plan to take the rest of the day off.

Mohegan Lake Spa marks first year of body and mind pampering   By Rita J. King

Sandy Santucci knows the key to a happy life is the combination of a healthy mind, body and spirit.

For years, she’s been a personal trainer and kickboxing instructor, and it occurred to her that people are more likely to devote themselves to fitness if they have an additional outlet for taking care of themselves.

Thus, Spa-Tucci’s was born.

“I can’t remember a time in the last year when someone has come through that door without saying how tired they are,” Santucci said. “Life is so hectic. Coming to the spa isn’t a luxury anymore, it’s a necessity.”

Santucci said she wants to hang a sign on the front door, “Welcome to Our World.” People shouldn’t expect to dash in and out of Spa-Tucci’s, she said, because the whole point is to relax and take a sweet breather in a busy life.

The roster of services includes a variety of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, back and neck, hot stone, prenatal, supportive touch and reflexology.

Applying her knowledge of the body gained through years as a trainer, Santucci said she also helps with assisted stretching. People underestimate the value of stretching, she said, adding the benefits of exercise are greatly enhanced by taking the time to finish it off right.

“People are often so tense and hunched up,” Santucci said. “I help them stretch and relax.”

When she gives pedicures, she often uses reflexology to help loosen the body. Nerve endings for the entire body culminate in the feet, and massaging those points can have far-reaching benefits.

Signs posted around the spa, such as “Be the Change You Want to See in the World,” remind Santucci, and her clients, of what’s truly important.

Licensed Medical Esthetician Linda Vogl’s magic hands administered a Spa-Tucci’s Signature Facial, complete with warm mitts for both hands and feet and Pachelbel’s Canon reminiscent of the holiday season playing softly in the background.

“I love what I do because it allows me to help people look and feel great,” Vogl said.

A series of extractions, exfoliations and a thorough moisturizing later, Vogl transforms the damage done by the elements and turns back the clock on the faces she touches. The spa also offers a facial for men, a back treatment, vitamin C anti-stress treatment, a professional peel to remove the outer layers of dead skin, an anti-aging eye treatment, manual dermabrasion and teen facials.

Body treatments, include a number of exotic options, like Dead Sea Crystal Salt treatment and Natural Dead Sea Mud Wrap to detox and purify skin while deep cleaning and restoring radiance.

An additional $5 can be spent on the promise of a smoother, firmer appearance and the reduction of cellulite.

After the body, buffed up by exercise, special treatments and possibly waxing, is in top form, no trip to the spa would be complete without a manicure and pedicure for the final polish. A rainbow of colors is offered for the choosing, and the spa even offers “permanent makeup,” electrolysis, ear piercing and fitness and nutrition counseling.

At the Jefferson Valley Mall last weekend, The N, a nighttime network for teens, brought its new entertainment news magazine, Real Access, to Westchester, to give teens an idea of the star treatment received by their idols.

The Real Access studio allowed young people to interview celebrity look-alikes on camera, and the Pamper Room gave them a chance to get a little taste of celebrity before hitting the bright lights. Spa-Tucci’s provided the massages.

Adolescents also were able to hang out in the Green Room, just like their favorite stars, and learn which divas request purple Skittles and vanilla scented candles.

Spa-Tucci’s, located on Route 6 in Mohegan Lake, is the perfect place to get your New Year’s resolution kicked into gear for a complete experience that leaves no hot stone unturned as they celebrate a year of business.

Spa Tucci’s, Mohegan Lake

Sandy Santucci, owner of Spa Tucci’s, brings her background as a personal trainer and her heritage as part Cherokee to the services at Spa Tucci’s. In a cozy, home-like setting decorated with a rustic, Native American feel, Spa Tucci’s offers traditional massages, facials, nail services, other body treatments, and fitness counseling for women and men. Those are the basics.

How does Rain Drop therapy sound? During a massage, essential oils are dropped onto the spine in rain drop fashion. How about a Southwestern Mud Wrap to help detoxify skin and body? The relaxing “Ge Gah No Wah” moist heat massage includes treatment with a moist heat pad followed by a Swedish massage. You can enjoy skin treatments with nourishing oils, a collagen mask to help smooth out lines and wrinkles, and revitalizing facials.

Also on tape are a hot stone massage or a reflexology pressure point massage for tired, aching feet. The new Ion Foot Detoxification System helps deplete impurities through your feet as they soak in an ionized foot bath. The five-hour Dreamcatcher package is a perfect Valentine’s Day gift, with one-hour massage, sugar scrub, facial, spa manicure and pedicure, topped off by lunch.

For men, the “Go-ah Nahtee” Package includes a three-and-a-half hour rejuvenation with one-hour deep tissue massage, salt scrub to exfoliate skin, 25-minute reflexology treatment, and a revitalizing facial. For those with less time to spare, the staff at Spa Tucci’s can suggest a shorter treatment that still will help you feel and look better.
